Perquimans County

Long known as one the most beautiful and scenic areas of the Albemarle, Perquimans County is situated between Edenton and Elizabeth City. Formed in 1668, Perquimans has strong historical ties with 4 distinct historic districts and the Newbold White House Historic Site. There’s plenty of bed and breakfast opportunities and dining experiences along with the Baseball Hall of Famer Catfish Hunter Museum, theres something for everyone.

Hall of fame pitcher Jim “Catfish” Hunter was born and raised here is certainly a point of interest for any sports fan. You can see up close and personal memorabilia from his playing days at Perquimans High School through his time with Kansas City, Oakland and New York.
