Elizabeth City is home to Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, the largest and busiest Coast Guard Air Station in the US. Elizabeth City is proud of its connection and commitment to our local coast guardsmen and was declared a “Coast Guard City” in 2015.
Elizabeth City is quickly becoming a tourist destination with many new restaurants, microbreweries, and Air BnB locations. There’s plenty to do and see here. Part of the larger Albemarle Area, the entire region is known for its small town charm and is a great place to live, work and retire.
